Opened in August 2009, Strawberry Hill sets new standards for accommodation in the Bedugul area of Bali. Incorporating features of a typical Indonesian mountain-style residence, such as wood floors, and wooden-clad walls, each of our 17 cabins is named after a mountain in Indonesia, and comprises a comfortable, colourful and cozy interior, a balcony where room service can be enjoyed overlooking one of Bedugul's dormant volcanoes, and an en-suite bathroom complete with shower and separate bathtub, with plenty of hot water for those unexpectedly cool high-altitude evenings. Each cabin has a telephone, and a TV with key satellite channels.
Strawberry Hill Restaurant serves tasty Indonesian favourites as well as home made soups, salads and burgers to passing travellers and in-house guests alike. In the evenings diners stay snug beside Bali's only real log fire. There's a pool table, a darts board, and a small library, as well as an outdoor barbecue and camp fire area for small groups. Strawberry Hill's grounds naturally include a strawberry patch, where our guests are welcome to pick their own fruit. Fresh strawberries are a feature of our menu, and a jar of strawberry jam made on our estate makes a wonderful souvenir.
There is plenty to see and do around Bedugul, so schedule a night or two with us en route between the north and south coasts. Visit the unique Ulun Danu Temple, the three crater lakes, the colourful fruit, flower and vegetable market, and the Botanical Gardens, or trek through forests, climb an extinct volcano, or ride a mountain bike. For golfers, there is a beautiful 18 hole championship golf course just 10 minutes' drive away, with year round conducive mountain temperatures.
